Face to Face – Covid-19 Guidance

Updated 13 December 2021

FACE TO FACE EVENTS

Whilst we are excited to meet in person again, COVID-19 still exists. Here are some of the ways we are facilitating our in-person events:

SAFELY DOES IT

As a growing brand with people at the heart of what we do, we place the safety and wellbeing of our team and attendees above anything else.
Now we have returned to live events, to help our Buzzers feel confident of returning to in-person networking events, we are introducing some new safety measures and resources to support you. Our hosts will have also carried out a risk assessment with the venue as well as comprehensive pre-event checks before every event.
It is important to remember that any mixing with others outside of your immediate household will not be without risk.

IMPORTANT CHANGES

  • We are capping attendee numbers to 35 (unless otherwise agreed based on the venue).
  • Attendees must register and book via the WebApp. We are not accepting cash.
  • We are operating a ‘no hand-shake policy’
  • We are supporting the ‘Flow before you go’ campaign, encouraging people to take a lateral flow test before coming to our events

SELF CERTIFICATION

Upon arrival you will be asked to read our ‘self-certify’ policy to declare that you have not recently received a positive COVID-19 test and have not knowingly been exposed to an individual who has recently tested positive for COVID-19.
FLOW BEFORE YOU GO
We are encouraging people to take a lateral flow test before coming to our events supporting the ‘Flow before you go’ campaign. As this is guidance only, attendees will not have to provide evidence on entry.

FACE COVERINGS

It is not mandatory to wear a face covering in hospitality venues where most of our Buzz events take place. Please feel free to wear a face covering if it makes you feel more comfortable.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW ARE YOU MANAGING NUMBERS/SOCIAL DISTANCING?
Following individual risk assessments, we may limit capacity for our in-person events to allow for social distancing. You are encouraged to book in advance using the Buzz WebApp to guarantee entry and reduce possible queues upon entry.

HOW ARE YOU HELPING TO LIMIT PHYSICAL CONTACT AT THE EVENTS?
We are not currently accepting cash due to COVID-19. We are asking people to register and book via the Buzz WebApp. We are promoting a ‘no handshake’ policy to avoid networkers feeling unsure of greeting etiquette and limiting numbers to allow for social distancing.

WHAT ADDITIONAL HYGIENE MEASURES DO YOU HAVE IN PLACE?
As well as hygiene measures and facilities offered by our venues, Buzz Hosts carry a ‘hygiene pack’ which is available to you, including hand sanitiser, tissues and antibacterial wipes. Hosts also complete a ‘pre-event safety checklist’ to mitigate risks.

WILL I BE REQUIRED TO WEAR A FACE COVERING WHEN ATTENDING ?
No. It is not mandatory to wear a face covering in hospitality venues, where most for our Buzz events take place, making networking a more enjoyable experience. However, it is a personal choice and you may feel more comfortable wearing one when entering, queuing or moving around busy areas.

WILL I ASKED TO SHOW PROOF OF A COVID-19 VACCINATION?
No. It is not a legal requirement. We will continue to follow government guidelines. We are not medical professionals, therefore it is not our place to judge or comment on the issue, all though we are encouraging you take a lateral flow test before attending.

WHY AM I BEING ASKED TO SELF-CERTIFY?
Upon arrival you will be asked to read our ‘self-certify’ criteria to declare you have not recently received a positive Covid-19 test and have not knowingly been exposed to an individual who has recently tested positive for COVID-19.

WHAT DO I DO IF I FEEL UNWELL, DISPLAY COVID-19 SYMPTOMS OR HAVE BEEN TOLD TO SELF-ISOLATE BY NHS TEST AND TRACE?

You must stay home to help stop the potential spread. It is a legal requirement to self-isolate if NHS Test and Trace tell you. You could be fined if you do not self-isolate.

WHAT DO I DO IF I HAVE COVID-19, OR HAVE BEEN TOLD I HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH SOMEONE WHO HAS, AFTER ATTENDING AN EVENT?

You must stay home and inform us immediately.  Please  get  in  touch  with  your  event  Host  or email admin@business-buzz.org to enable us to inform other attendees and reduce risk (your personal details will be kept confidential). Please report via the NHS https://www.gov.uk/report-covid19-result

WILL I BE GIVEN A REFUND IF I CANNOT ATTEND BECAUSE OF COVID-19

No, but you will be offered to transfer your ticket so you can attend next month’s event. Alternatively, you may choose to attend a Buzz Virtual event. Please get in touch with your event Host or use the Webchat function on our website to arrange this.
