Business Buzz Returns to Its Roots in Harpenden as Networking Group Celebrates 13 Years

Harpenden, Hertfordshire – [21 February 2025] – As small businesses continue to navigate tough economic conditions, one networking group is proving that strong connections are key to success.

Business Buzz, which launched its very first networking event at The George pub in Harpenden back in 2012, is celebrating its 13th anniversary by bringing its Harpenden Buzz group back to where it all began. On Thursday, 27th February, from 10 AM – 12 Noon, The George (4 High St, Harpenden, Herts, AL5 2TB) will once again welcome local businesses for a special celebratory networking event.

Since its inception, Business Buzz has grown to 57 networking groups across the UK, creating a vibrant and inclusive space for local business owners to connect, collaborate, and support each other. Unlike traditional networking groups, Buzz operates a flexible, pay-as-you-go model with no expensive membership fees, making it accessible to businesses of all sizes.

A SIMPLE, EFFECTIVE WAY TO BUILD YOUR BUSINESS NETWORK

Networking can feel daunting, but Buzz makes it simple and effective with its 3-2-1 principle:

🔹 3 – Speak to three new people at each event.

🔹 2 – Arrange two follow-up conversations to strengthen connections.

🔹 1 – Invite a contact next time to help the community grow.

“Networking is about building real relationships, not just exchanging business cards,” says Chloe Briggs, Host of Harpenden Buzz and founder of Fifteen Three Digital. “Buzz is all about great conversations, a welcoming community, and real opportunities to help each other grow.”

SUPPORTING LOCAL VENUES – #LOVEOURVENUES CAMPAIGN

As Business Buzz celebrates its 13th year, it is also launching #LoveOurVenues, a campaign designed to champion the pubs, cafés, and venues that host its networking events every month.

The hospitality industry has faced significant challenges in recent years, and Buzz is proud to support town-centre venues like The George. The #LoveOurVenues initiative encourages attendees to stay for coffee or lunch, leave positive reviews on Google and TripAdvisor, and spread the word about the fantastic businesses that host Buzz events.

“It’s fantastic to have Business Buzz returning to The George,” says Luke, General Manager at The George. “Local businesses are the backbone of our town, and we’re proud to be part of a network that helps them thrive.”

FROM PIVOT TO GROWTH – BUZZ THROUGH THE YEARS

Business Buzz has continued to thrive over the years, even pivoting to an innovative online platform during the pandemic. This allowed businesses to keep meeting virtually, retain connections, and even attract new attendees who previously found in-person networking daunting. Now, with 57 groups in operation across the UK, Buzz has cemented itself as a go-to networking community for business owners.

“We started as a small event in a pub, and now Buzz has become a national community,” says Simon George, Co-Founder of Business Buzz. “But no matter how much we grow, our core values stay the same—bringing people together, building real relationships, and supporting local businesses.”
